As you can probably tell, today's post is about WARPED TOUR!
I went to Warped week ago on Sunday and it was pretty fun actually. I had my doubts about it because I the lineup was low key kinda lame but after the day went by and I was reflecting on the ca ride home, it really wasn't so bad. I set a record this year as well. In previous years I had only seen maybe 4 bands over the course of the whole day but this year I saw 10 sets and then some because I sat in for the end of a couple but I honestly couldn't tell you who they were.
The weather was also really nice. The first year I ever attended Warped tour it was rainy and this is an outdoor event so it was also extremely muddy and slippery as well. I ended up passing out an hour and a half after we got in and I went home directly after so it was a good time. Last year's Warped was extremely hot and though I didn't pass out, I spent a majority of the time sitting in the shade because I felt sick. It was a fun time. The lineup last year was so good though.
THIS YEARRRR was pretty fun actually and you're about to find out why!
Clothing wise I kept it pretty simple and minimal. I always try to put effort into my concert looks. I put a lot of thought and time into figuring out what to wear likeI have my outfits planned weeks in advance because I'm weird and think about things like that in advance I was honestly a little bit anxious about what to wear for warped this year because the better you look, you're going to have less fun because you're going to get sweaty and dirty and all you want after its over is to shower. If you wear your best clothes you're going to worry about how your clothes are holding up rather than having fun in the pit/crowd. In previous years its always been crop tops and high waisted shorts. Simple and easy to move in for the most part. But what I came to find is that high waisted shorts are not that easy to take off when you're soaked in sweat. Peeing was always a struggle. This year I wanted to wear less because I really don't do that well in the heat so I figured if I was wearing less I might be able to stand the heat. (excuse the photos..yikes)
I wore a Calvin Klein cross back Bralette. I found this at a popup thing at Nordstroms. It was the last one on the rack and I had been searching for a black bikini top to wear for Warped. Like I said earlier, I think about these things in advance and I was really feeling a bikini top for warped in case I get wet and I'd be able to strip down to it rather than strip down to my bra under a t-shirt if that makes sense. I came across this guy and after I tried it on I didn't want to take it off. It's honestly one of the most comfortable bras I've ever worn. It's super cute on its own or under a cute shirt!
I kept it simple with black running shorts. I literally wear these all the time. They're so comfortable and obviously they're not restricting because they're made for running so walking around all day in the heat wasn't a problem.
For shoes I thought I'd pay homage to Vans Warped Tour and wear my incredibly beat up and slightly disgusting slip ons. I've literally had these shoes forever. I originally got them for school because I go to a private school and like most, we follow a dress code that includes black or brown shoes. School quickly shut that idea down because they're considered a sneaker? Okay school you do you. I've worn these to warped every year and each time they collect more and more dust and dirt. I've worn them so much that they're so faded and instead of black they look a little bit brown but that could be the dirt and stuff they've collected over the years. They're so beat up but the most comfortable shoes I own.
Despite the fact that I've worn them a million times in the time I've had them, they still managed to give me blisters on the backs of my feet? Alright.
On top of the shorts and the bralette I wore this oversized sleeveless top from Topshop. I felt like going to warped in just the bralette was a little...much..or in this case not enough so I snagged this and decided that if I got hot I could take it off. Such a comfortable shirt. I dont know if it's just really big or I'm abnormally small (it's my size so its probably the shirt) but it's long enough to wear as a dress paired with tights or something and I'm so about it.
To top everything off I wore my Blackbear hat. The hat tied everything together honestly. I wore orange socks and painted my nails orange as well. I was so afraid it wouldn't come on time beause I had ordered it a week before Warped and it literally came Saturday. Usually I'm not a hat person because I think I look weird but I didn't feel that weird in it so everything really worked out.
Last but not least I carried the iconic button backpack that I literally take to all the shows I go to. I'm so proud of this backpack. I want to extend the buttons past the bottom pocket and up by the larger Jack Skellington Pin but I like the way it looks now. The problem with that is that I want to buy so many pins but I have no room.
As far as makeup is concerned I literally put chapstick on and then some sunscreen but other than that my face was naked.
The sunscreen I use on my face is the Coppertone Oil Free Face Sunscreen. It doesn't cause breakouts and the fact that it's oil free helps keep my oily skin calm. As for the rest of my body I honestly use whatever I can find in the house.
We stood in line for maybe half an hour before they let us in the venue. It was 11:00Am around the time we had gotten water and were walking around searching for the blowup schedule.
As we were walking I heard someone singing and the voice sounded really familiar. At first I thought it was music someone was playing while the stage was being set up but when we got to the schedule, I saw Awake At last 's name first on the schedule for Journeys Left Foot Stage.
When I tell you I've never run so fast in my life..I literally have never run so fast in my life. I honestly had no idea where the stage even was so I was basically following the music and low and behold my ears led me to Awake At Last on the Journey's Left Foot Stage.
(Vince and tyler// 2/5 memebers)
I saw Awake At Last for the first time in January 2015 ? 2016? at a venue that no longer exists but since then I've seen them three? times and I fall back in love with their music every time. I had no idea they were even playing warped. The last time I saw them play was like two years ago so it was a nice surprise. Vince told me they were on the catering list which means they help with the Warped Catering and then they get one date to play and the Maryland date was their date apparently.
They just released new music and you all should check it out!
(I didn't take photos so this one is from his instagram (@andyblack) taken by @belabo0photo on instagram)
On the stage right next to Journeys Left foot stage, Journeys Right Foot stage, Andy black was getting ready to play. Andy Biersack was?? still is?? the frontman of Black Veil Brides and he just recently became a solo act. This man is honestly so pleasing to look at and his voice is like butter its so smooth and nice. That was a weird comparison but he's such a beautiful person and his music is so good. I only know like three of his songs but It was fun to see him do his thing alone.
Directly across from the Journeys stages, were a bunch of tents. One of them being the Black Craft Cult merch tent. "Black Craft Cult is a brand that believes that you don't need god or any organized belief system to be a good person."
Jake Simons aka @goodboyofficial on instagram was running the merch tent all summer for Black Craft Cult all summer long and I forgot about that when I saw him standing under the tent.
Jake also does merch for Falling In Reverse when they go on tour and I always go and hangout with him for a few minutes every time they come to town.
But I raced over to the tent and basically freaked out about not remembering he was going to be there and we caught up a little bit because the last time I saw him was January. I found out he works for Black Craft Cult which explained why he was manning the tent all summer.
Jake is such a ray of sunshine I love him so much. If you ever come across him please give him a hug or a high five and tell him he's a great person.
I saw so many bands last weekend it was insane. One of them being Courage My Love. Courage My Love was literally one of the only bands I listened to in middle school. I listened to them, Set It Off, New Years Day (who I saw at warped this year and middle school me freaked out), The Material, Escape The Fate, and Falling in Reverse were like the only bands I listened to for YEARS.
I honestly screamed when I saw them on the lineup and basically cried when I saw them play. 6th grade Cam was honestly losing her shit the entire time. And then I got to meet them and middle school me actually died. They were so nice. It was such a good time I honestly can't even believe they were on the lineup and that I even saw them.
The last band I saw that day was Stacked Like Pancakes. They added me back on snapchat and I laughed for a solid 30 seconds. I'm going to be honest and tell yu that I really had no idea who they were or what they sounded like. I really only saw them because their name is the best band name I've ever heard in my life. They're such sweet guys and their set was pretty good. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
I had such a good time this year. I was sick too so it was an even better time:) I saw so many people I haven't seen in years and made a few new friends as well. Warped is one of those things that you do every year despite the lineup for me at least. Something exciting always happens and I feel like I'd be really mad if I didn't go just because I didn't like the lineup. I found bands I really like that I didn't know prior to going and I also found out that pirate metal is a real genre that exists.
Thats all for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed:)
Thanks for reading! I'll see you in my next post!
This is different from what I normally post but I was scrolling through my feed and I realized that so many of my inspirations are making advances in their careers and adding skills to their belts. Its overwhelming how proud I am of them so I thought instead of flooding their mentions on twitter 600 times I thought I'd shine some light here. It might come out a little strange because I'm the worst at expressing thoughts but I'm going to try my best.
I'm also going to link their @'s and I highly advise all of you reading this to follow them because the talent is REAL!
without further ado...
Lilmissmegsmakeup // MegsMUA
I'm going to start this post off with the babe who inspired me to take makeup head on and run with it. I was into makeup when I came across this ray of sunshine but more as a hobby. I wasn't as serious about it then as I am now and Megs is a huge reason why. She's so talented..I can't put it into words. She's also one of the the sweetest and kindest souls I've ever come across. I've never met her but judging by the way she interacts with everyone on social media and her presence on youtube you can't deny it. I messaged her a while ago asking for homecoming makeup advice and as busy as she is doing what she loves, still took the time to give me tips and ideas on how to do my makeup.
I've learned so many things from Megs simply through watching her youtube channel and the tutorials she does on different platforms whether it be her own or a brands. All of these skills are the ones I incorporate into my makeup routine on the daily. Her looks are also super creative. As some of us do, she changes her hair every now and again and the change inspires makeup looks which I think is super cool. The looks are always bomb and I'm always tempted to recreate them.
In short, Megs is one of the most genuine beauty influencers out there and deserves all the love in the word because this woman is going to take over the word.
Kaylee is so talented I could write a book okay. I've been following this babe for quite some time now and she has come so far from the time her selfies were retweeted onto my twitter timeline to where she is now. Her looks are so unique and her liner skills are out of this world. LOOK HOW SHARP THAT WING IS DO YOU SEE THAT? IT COULD CUT ME IN HALF I LOVE IT!! I used to try to do my liner the way she does it because it's so sharp and honestly perfect but liner and I aren't friends..BUT THATS OKAY!! She's been growing her following as well as her makeup skill set and I've loved watching her continually slay my existence. She's so sweet and deserves all of the love and support because she's absolutely incredible.
Gabi is such a babe look at her omg.
I fell in love with her and her skills when I followed her on Instagram a while ago and tuned into her live stream on instagram. She was using Coastal Scent shadows and the look she created at the end of the live stream was straight fire. Her whole Instagram page has me completely mesmerized. She's insanely talented and you all need to 11/10 check her out because she's a quality human with quality content!
I honestly could not stop scrolling through her page when this photo was retweeted onto my twitter timeline. CAN WE DISCUSS THE DETAIL? Her looks are so creative and incredibly detailed I mean damn I can barely line my eyes and this babe is out here drawing reindeer on her eyelids. I always look to her for inspiration. Though I'd never be able to recreate the masterpieces she creates on her face, they always give me color inspirations and I take those and run. Ali is killing the game okay KILLING IT! Go give her all of the love!!
This woman taught me how to blend my eyeshadow and I don't know how to express how thankful I am.
I've watched a million and one youtube tutorials as I'm sure a lot of you have as well and I have never been able to follow one as easily as I am able to follow Rhian's. Her looks are so pretty and fairly easy to recreate which I appreciate being a beginner in the makeup scene. Rhian is also my go to gal for all things vegan and cruelty free. Her youtube channel consists of tons of tutorials and product reviews and all of them are for vegan and cruelty free products which I love. She's a total babe and so talented! Please give her all the love and support because she deserves nothing less:)
Danielle is so pretty I honestly cannot get over it. Her makeup always looks flawless and I'm always amazed. She's the reason I started wearing lashes. I was always skeptical because I really wasn't sure how lashes worked but after seeing Danielle's makeup and how perfect it always looked I was like "Hmm maybe I should try it" so one day I did and I honestly am so thankful because lashes are now the finishing touch on all of my looks. I don't know if I would have picked them up if it weren't for her. Also her contour is always amazing. I can't contour for shit but I bought my first contour products a while ago solely because I wanted to define my cheek bones the way Danielle does. She's so sweet and you should hit her with a follow and all your love.
Spencer popped up on my twitter feed a little over a year ago and I just about fell out of my chair. I was shook to the tenth degree. That was before he blew up and now he's all over Tarte, NYX, Buzzfeed, etc. So creative and so talented I literally am blown away every time he posts a look. I want him to do my makeup and teach me his ways. He's going to take over the world too. Mark my words
mua queen ica
I honestly am obsessed with this beauty. She was retweeted onto my timeline a while back and I'm mesmerized every time she posts her looks. She pays such close attention to detail and her BLENDING SKILLS HOLY CRAP!! Her makeup is absolute perfection I would kill to have her do my makeup!! She's also pretty damn great with hair!
Throw a follow her way:)
..do I even need to explain myself for this one? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? THIS IS AMAZING!! Talk about paying attention to detail goddamn. I followed this beauty on Instagram a few months ago and literally my jaw drops all the way to the floor and I fall out of every chair when I see her posts. I can't get over her work oh my god.
Go follow her and give her all of the love because holy crap...amazing
are you shook? I know I am. PLEASE GIVE ALL OF THESE BABES LOVE AND SUPPORT AND A HUG OR SOMETHING BECAUSE LITERALLY THEY ALL DESERVE ALL OF THAT AND SO MUCH MORE! These are some of my makeup inspirations and maybe after reading this they'll be yours too?!
I hope you all enjoyed this post, thanks for reading!!
It has been a really hot second since I posted a rant but I am honestly so annoyed so please grab some goldfish, get comfortable, and enjoy:)
Okay so first of all before I start ranting about what I actually want to talk about; let me start by saying I am extremely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff going on right now. I'm saying this in terms of concerts and releases and stuff. (this would be endless if I were to rant about my actual life problems lol)
A few days ago my pals in 7 Minutes in Heaven released their new song Symmetry which is their title track off their new EP Symmetry which they're going to drop on September 15th. The song is so good I honestly...I'm so proud of them. (I'm about to go off on a tangent I'm sorry) I've been listening to those boys for what feels like forever. I saw them for the first time on July 16th 2015 which was two years ago on Sunday. That was one of the best days of my life for a number of reasons. First, my best friends all came to visit me and its crazy to think about because none of them live close and we were all in a group chat for only a few months and then we were all in one place..shit is crazy man. Second, I finally saw 7 Minutes in Heaven live which was absolutely incredible. I felt like I was home in that crowd..does that sound weird? Probably but thats okay. Third, I met the guys in the band (finally) and they were the sweetest humans. I love them so much and every time they do things like this it takes me back to that night and I get all fuzzy and warm. (I'm currently an emotional wreck if you couldn't already tell)
They're also going on tour and I can't go because I won't be in town but also even if I was in town they're playing a good hour and a half potentially three with traffic away from me so thats cool its been two years but thats totally fine. I'll see them soon..hopefully.
Wrenn is dropping a new song on Friday July 14th which is super soon and the teaser she posted on Instagram was so good. She's so talented. If you don't know who she is I high key suggest you stop what you're doing and look her up because boy does that girl have talent.
I love her so much wow she's so talented and literally the sweetest babe on the planet. I'm still shook I saw her in April WOW.
I'm going to warped on Sunday and a few friends from the 7 Minutes In Heaven show I mentioned earlier are going and I haven't seen them since last warped tour so..a year ago exactly and its ironic because Warped is on the 16th which is the two year anniversary of us meeting and I don't know I think it's super cool and I'm super stoked because...my best friends man.
Also I ordered this Blackbear hat right and I hope to god it gets here before warped because I based my entire outfit around that hat right down to my nail polish. I also am scared I'm going to pass out..I pass out every year but last year wasn't as bad as the first year..(I literally dropped onto the pavement in a line of semi drunk people waiting for chicken nuggets)
ALSO WARPED FOOD IS SO GOOD
Metro Station dropped their 10 year anniversary tour dates on Monday. I looked at them today and literally screamed.
One because they have more than 10 dates. This sounds weird but when they talked about the tour a while back I googled it to see if anything was up and bandsintown and Songkick both had the same 10 dates. Ten..just ten. I was like are you joking??????????????????????? I was half ready to throw hands because I thought those ten random ass dates were the only dates. Ten dates for the ten year anniversary tour...I was literally fuming. I wasn't even mad that they weren't coming relatively close to my city..okay maybe a little but what dingus thought a ten date tour would be a good idea? I mean ten days is a lot don't get me wrong and theres nothing wrong with that but Metro Station is a throwback jam band. You can say you hate them and you can shit on them all you want but as soon as one of their songs comes on you're going to automatically dance and sing the lyrics whether you realize you're doing it or not.
For example: They played Warped Tour '15 and I was standing in the crowd waiting for them to come on right and this guy in front of me was totally trashing them. He was ranting about how he didn't want to sit through Metro's set in order to stick around for whoever was after them but he was close to the front and didn't want to lose his place. The funny part of this though was that as soon as Metro Station came out and started playing Control, this man was losing his mind. He knew every word to every song and he jumped and danced the whole 45 minutes they played.
But ten days for them is like leaving Tennessee and then turning back around..it goes by super fast and it just doesn't make sense for them to go on such a short tour.
I also screamed because they're playing a city half an hour-an hour depending on traffic away from me and that particular area is not a place my mom is down with me going to. I don't know what it is about Metro Station but when I brought it up she said I could go? ? ?
I was like ..what? I..can go..? I've spent the last five years trying to see a variety of artists there but you don't think twice when it comes to Metro Station? I'm not complaining but I'm just shocked. So I get to be reunited with my loves in October for the first time in almost two years so I am very stoked.
OKAY NOW I'M BOUTA GET INTO THE JUICE.
I honestly started crying when I found this out.
SO I was on twitter and I got a notif from my group chat right and my friend told me Marilyn Manson was going on tour in September and I was like okay sweet like go him you know? And then she said he was playing a venue really close to my house
and that was when I lost my shit for real.
MARILYN FUCKING MANSON
ONE OF THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL MUSICIANS..EVER
THE MAN FUCKING WON THE ICON AWARD AT THE APMAS LAST YEAR LIKE HE'S COMING TO THE FILLMORE!
I guess it freaks me out because he usually plays outdoor area type places because he needs space to do all the theatric bits that he incorporates into his sets and this is an indoor venue. I'm not saying its a small venue either but I'm just surprised...I don't know.
See now if you watched/were subscribed to my youtube channel last summer I posted a video about my summer 2016 bucket list. Manson was touring last summer and the first thing on that bucket list was to see Manson live. I literally would sell all of my organs on the black market for tickets to see that man perform live.
I don't idolize him and I don't condone a lot of what he does but I admire him as a person. I've read his book twice and my perspective on him and life in general changed completely both times I read it. I used to think he was a complete whackass creep but he's actually this super intelligent guy who had a fucked up childhood and an even more fucked up early life but he lived in a way that made the little things not matter if that makes sense.
His music is also really good. The underlying themes throughout the albums are important (in my opinion). His views are clearly portrayed in his music videos which fuck with me more than anything I've ever seen but I appreciate it because it makes me think. Music nowadays doesn't make you think about anything because its the same message over and over. Manson's music is almost written in code. The lyrics make absolutely no sense unless you sit down and really break it down. I like that about his music. It makes me think and it makes me angry.
He's coming near me in September. It's on a wednesday and traffic is the worst on weekdays but its Manson..so..come on man. So I texted my mom and after a couple incoherant texts, I finally got the point across that Manson was coming and keep in mind my mom HATES Manson. Like every parent she thinks he's terrifying. She won't even talk about him. She gets super uncomfortable and a little bit agitated.
Knowing this fact I start desperately telling her things to make her feel better like I'll keep my grades up, I'll stay on the balcony and avoid the main floor all together, etc.
Her response was literally
"No. No no"
Then at dinner I asked her why she wouldn't let me go and she goes
THATS ALL SHES GOT?
URGHHH It makes me so mad. I JUST WANT TO SEE MANSON LIVE AND SHE IS NOT HAVING IT.
Like I totally get why she's uncomfortable with the situation like he's Marilyn Manson and the crowd he attracts is..rough to say the least. I'm also super small so the chances of me getting trampled are probably really large but whatever.
I just..the venue has balcony seating that you have to obviously pay for but you need a wristband to get in and out and its super exclusive in the sense that if a bunch of drug heads tried to come at me they'd get stopped at the rope. (it sounds classier than it actually is)
I just want to see him live. He's so iconic and the stuff I've seen on youtube is pretty cool. He's not as rough as he used to be. He used to .. I don't know he used to do a lot of really weird and slightly uncalled for shit at his shows but its more controlled now it seems. I obviously don't actually know because..IVE NEVER SEEN HIM LIVE but from the videos and the snapchats my friends send me..it seems pretty mellow in comparison to his younger days.
I don't know I feel like this was pointless and it didn't have a conclusion but I felt like I should post because it's been awhile and also because I really had to get that off my chest haha..
My next post is for sure going to be Saturday so please lok out for that!!
Thanks for reading, see you Saturday:)
Today's post has a theme and that theme is progress. A couple months ago I made a post similar to this one called Mermaid OOTD/MOTD. That post was documentation of my first attempt at a cut crease. I recently tried that look again and honestly I almost cried. I've come so far and learned so many new teqniques since that day. The difference is scary like your jaw is probably going to drop.
without further ado...
Get The Look:
So thats all for this look! I hope you all enjoyed this!
NOW we're going to look at the first attempt so your jaws can drop because its only been 4 months but I've come a long way in those four months
I'm really proud of myself. The first time I did that look I was so excited and happy. I thought it was the best look I had ever done.
Honestly I feel like makeup is more about the brushes you use than the value of your makeup. The better your brushes the better your makeup is going to turn out. Obviously you need practice but I've quickly learned things work better when I'm using the right brushes. You don't need high end makeup to make your look nice. Drugstore shadow and the right brushes will work just as well as a $60 palette and a few brushes will.
Thanks for reading!
I've been in a really green mood recently. I have no idea how to explain the way that feels so naturally I did a look inspired by the feeling. I bought this NYX pigment months and months ago and I've only used it once but the look didn't do the pigment justice so I picked it up again for this look.
That's all for this look! I really like how this look turned out despite the patchy spot on my right eye. It's an easy fun look for a night out or a night in with Netflix (if you're anything like me lol).
I hope you all enjoyed! See you next post:)
I was struggling with ideas as to what to post for a Music Monday because I literally say this in every Music Monday post but it's been a minute since I've written one. I was scrolling through my Spotify playlists looking for music to get my mind rolling in a creative direction and I came across my two warped tour playlists for both 2015 and 2016. Each are filled with only the bands I was planning on seeing at my date which gave me the idea to write this post. This is also going to help me determine what bands to put into my Warped 2017 playlist so this is a win win in all aspects.
For those of you who on't know or aren't familiar with Warped Tour, it's a music festival hosted by Vans every summer since 1995. The tour started as a skate punk and third-wave ska tour, but later began to feature mostly pop punk and metalcore acts. It's basically just a heavier version of coachella but instead of it being a fashion show with music on the side, it's all about the music; the worse you look means the more fun you're having.
The lineup this year I recognized very few names which is different than years past. Last year's lineup was actually beautiful ( With Confidence, 3OH!3, Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, The Maine, We The Kings, Every Time I Die, Set It Off, Sleeping With Sirens, State Champs, Issues, etc). And the 2015 lineup was pretty cool too ( Attila, Man Pierce The Veil, Set It Off, Never Shout Never, Escape The Fate, New Years Day, Our Last Night, Night Riots (oh my god I love them !!! I didn't even realize they were there that year), The Amity Affliction, Metro Station, etc) But this year there are only a couple names I recognize but a lot of names I'm excited to see that I didn't know existed until seeing the lineup.
So without further ado...lets go!
What is Attila honestly? They're a metalcore band from Atlanta Georgia and I honestly can say that though I'm not a huge fan of that genre, they put on incredible shows. I saw them for the first time in November 2015 when they were on tour with Falling In Reverse (who's also playing warped this summer but only two dates and I'm forever crying) Metro Station, and Assuming We Survive. It was literally one of the coolest sets I have ever seen. The energy from not only the audience but the band too, everyone was engaged, jumping, moshing, etc. It was a really fun 45 minutes and I'm stoked to catch them this summer!
I Prevail is a newer metalcore band. They started in 2014 in Southfield Michigan and they are really REALLY good. The first time I heard them was on Octane when their cover of Taylor Swift's Blank Space (which is better than the original in my opinion) and I fell in love with them after that. I've never seen them live but you can bet I'll be in the crowd screaming.
Jule Vera is a female fronted rock band formed in 2013 from Alabama. They are so good, Ansley is so talented. Her voice is unbelievable. I saw them in February 2016 when they toured with Never Shout Never, Metro Station, and Waterparks. They were one of my favorite sets that night and when I saw their band on the lineup I was like 'HELL YEAH!" .. It''s going to be fun.
Never Shout Never
To be honest one of the mai reasons I'm going to Warped this summer is to see Never Shout Never. They're a rock band from Joplin, Missouri and I seriously could see them live 70000000 times and never ever get tired of hearing Chris Drews voice. I've currently seen them twice and I met my best friend the second time I saw them which was super special. Their sound makes me feel really at peace like its so calming. Chris has been putting out jams since he started the band in 2007 when it was just him and his ukulele. I am SO excited to see them for the third time.
New Years Day
New Years Day is a rock band from California that I have literally been listening to since sixth grade. the whole vibe of the band is very dark and eerie. Think of bats, pumpkins, halloweenish stuff if you will. Just the fact that I've been listening to them for so long and now finally have the opportunity to see them live has me super hype!
I actually recently just got into his music without even realizing until now that his name is on the liineup. Sammy adams is a hip hop artist from Massachusetts. I like his sound. I'm that into the hip hop scene but I like his lyrics and sound so I'm planning on catching him at warped.
Our Last Night
Okay alright here we go story time for a quick minute. So three years ago was the first time I ever saw Set It Off. I thought Set It Off was headlining because I was 14 and Set It Off was like this huge band that blew up because Horrible Kids is their best song and Citematics is their best album (no shade) but I was mistaken. Our Last Night was headlining and I really had no idea who they were other than that their name was on the show bill. SO when I bought the tickets for this show, the venue they were going to be playing at gives you a taste of what you'll be hearing night of with artist backgrounds and a link to a music video or song. The song they linked for Our Last Night was Same Old War which quickly became one of my favorite songs. I don't know every time I hear them or think about them I just get really happy because that show was my first gneral admissions show and I made so many friends that night. I'm just really excited to see them again at warped.
Alright this is one of those bands that I had no clue existed until reading the lineup. To be honest their name is cool so I want to see and hear what they're about. Microwave is a rock band from Atlanta Georgia. They've apparently been around for a minute so I guess I'm a little bit slow but still excited for their set
Plain White T's
HOLY SHIT CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING!??!?!? I love the Plain White T's so much its not even funny. I saw them in June 2016 just kind of at random. I had no idea they were going to be there until I read in big letters PLAIN WHITE T'S ON X STAGE AT X TIME (x because I can't remember but that's not important). They were incredible, 9 year old me screamed her heart out the entire set. I don't even know if they're playing my date but the fact that they're even playing makes me so happy.
Stacked Like Pancakes
So to be completely honest I wasn't going to go to warped up until a few weeks ago when my friend and I made plans to meet up day of and hangout but this bands name, Stacked Like Pancakes, for whatever reason stuck in my mind like glue and despite this post and all the bands mentioned, all the bands playing, my MAIN reason for going to warped tour 2017 is to see Stacked Like Pancakes. I honestly have no idea why. Sometimes random things will stick in my mind and I can't shake it. Stacked Like Pancakes being one of those things. They're a fourth-wave ska band from Towson Maryland which is really close to me WOW what a coincidence. They started in 2011 and you best believe I'm going to see what they're about in 2017. I mean come on, with a name like Stacked Like Pancakes how could you not want to find out?
Assuming We Survive
The first time I ever saw these amazing guys was on the Super Villains tour in 2015. They opened for Attila and Falling in Reverse and literally they are so good. Adrian (vocals) is so energetic and he jumped around the stage and got in the crowd. His voice is amazing. They're also really nice, genuine guys. Adrian especially. I had a conversation or two that night with him and I saw the other members in pass by but I am a really big fan of them and I'm stoked to be able to see them again.
Courage My Love
I've been listening to Courage My Love since I slid out of the womb it feels like. The Material, courage My Love, New Years Day, Set It Off, etc were all my middle school jam bands, Courage My Love is a three piece rock band from Canada. They've been around since 2009 and I love them so much. Their sound brings me back to 6th grade and memories of my sister and I screaming the lyrics on car rides. I am sO excited o finally after nine years of listening get to hear them live. GOD BLESS Warped Tour.
Dead Girls Academy
They opened for Falling In Reverse on their End Is Here Tour. So good..SO good. They remind me a lot of Falling in Reverse. Their sound kind of but more so their mannerisms. Michael and Ronnie kind of look a like and I almost peed that night bc I thought I saw Ronnie at the bar near where I was standing but when he turned around it was just Michael. There really isn't a lot of info on these guys so I'm going to leave you with my End Is Here vlog which has a few minutes of their set. They only played 15 minutes but I've been obsessed since.
Again one of those bands that caught my attention, don't know anything about them but I'm very intrigued. Band names always get me for whatever reason. The more interesting the band name the more likely I am to check them out. Naked Walrus is an alternative rock band from California. As I'm looking for info on them I came to realize they aren't even playing my date but that's okay. I still like their name and they're still going to be added to my playlist.
Again with the name wow. How does one come up with such a band name? Playboy Manbaby is a six piece punk band from Arizona. Again, not sure if they're playing my date but they seem cool so they're going in the playlist and if things work out your girl is going to catch them at warped:)
So I basically read through the entire lineup list as I wrote this and picked out the ones I definitely want to see. I may see more on the day or, hell I probably wont get around to seeing all of them in one day because of overlapping set times and stuff but I am very excited. I have a plan and I'm going to try to stick to it. I have to say I wasn't very excited for warped this summer but after writing this out I'm intrigued and very excited. Warped also isnt for another few months but I'm weird and plan ahead if I even bother to plan at all.
I hope you all enjoyed this post! If you're going to Warped comment some of the band on your list! If you've heard of any of these let me know as well!!

Today's post is basically a written tutorial of the video I uploaded YESTERDAY!!!! You all should definitely go watch:) I did a glitter cut crease as you probably read in the title and I got glitter absolutely everywhere but the final product was pretty great if I do say so myself.
Get The Look:
First I outlined and filled in my brows with the Milani Brow Pomade
These are honestly my favorite lashes right now. They're long and voluminous but they're also super natural looking..as natural as false lashes can look.
Apply a dot of glue to your thumb nail or hand and run your lash band through it. This tecnique gives an even application of glue
Another lash tip:
If you put your mirror down and look down into it, it makes the lash application process SO much easier
One more Lash Tip:
Using tweezers to squeeze your lashes together brings the band closer to your lash line and it helps
These liquid lips are so nice. I bought four of them on amazon for $1.50? and they are 100% matte. They don't transfer or come off after eating or drinking. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how drying they are. They're not too bad but it annoys me.
Another thing it does which bugs me but it happens with mostly every lip product I use; it cracks off on the inner edges of my lips so you can see the inside of my lips. You can see it a bit in the pictures but thats not a big deal
Lower Lash Line:
Spray your brush with setting spray (I used NYX Dewy Setting Spray) before applying to make the color pop (this works for foil shadows as well)
That is all for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed:) I had a lot of fun with this look and it definitely is one of my favorite ones that I have done!
Be sure to watch the video I uploaded on this look (linked below) and I'll see you in my next post!

hey babes! Happy Mothers day!
It's been a hot minute yikes! I honestly have been in a mood lately and blogging wasn't at the top of my list. BUT I'M HERE NOW SO ITS COOL ! Today's post s a motd incase you forgot to read the title and I'm pretty into it. I'm not a huge fan of nude looks because I like a lot of color. Bold lips, bold eyes, neutral things bore me but that's my moms thing and since its mothers day I thought I'd honor her and play down a bit today. I also stole James Charles' thing with the eye gem look which I have been absolutely loving.
Lets get into it!
Get The Look:
I used ELF Moisturizing Lipstick in Ravishing Rose
On top of the lipstick I applied the Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss in Big Night Out
So thats all for this look! I hope you enjoyed:)

Bands You Should Know #6
I've been listening to a ton of new music which leads to the constant updating of playlists so I thought I'd share some of my new findings with you all!
Jillian Edwards is a Christian, folk, indie, and rock musician based in Dallas Texas. Her voice is so sweet and her music is so light and nice. I love this girl. She popped up on my weekly Spotify playlist a couple weeks ago and since then I've been hooked. Her music is good for rainy afternoons or three in the morning feels if you get what I mean. Her songs make me feel happy and her voice is really bright..that sounds weird but I highly recommend checking her out!
"MAX; three big letters and one short dude" (more popularly known as Max Schneider)
This man came out of nowhere wow I saw him on Nickelodeon and now he's running around stages in different cities on tour. I just recently saw him live and I was like WOW look at him go! His voice is absolutely incredible and he has the energy of a 10 year old jacked on sugar. His music puts me in a really good mood and his voice makes me feel things. He's a model, actor, dancer, song writer, and singer who grew up in Manhattan NY. He currently has two albums out (one of them is a bunch of covers he did with his brother (Schneider Brother Covers, 2013) and the other one is a bunch of OG songs he wrote (Hells Kitchen Angel, 2016) along with like 10 million singles one of which features my main manz Gnash
He's honestly such a talented little ray of sunshine.
Members (from left to right): Ryan Met , Jack Met , Adam Met
These guys are so good oh my god WOW. They're an indie-pop band of brothers based in NYC. They've been playing covers since 2005 but in 2013 Sia heard their song "I'm Ready" and told her manager who contacted them and basically became their co-manager. They have two albums (Living Room, 2013 + What Everyones Thinking, 2016) and two EP's ( Infinity, 2014 + I'm Ready, 2014) along with a bunch of singles. AJR have also opened for a ton of amazing artists like Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Hoodie Allen, The Vamps, The Wanted, Train, Andy Grammer, We The Kings, Ingrid Michaelson, and American Authors. They're music puts me in such an upbeat positive mood which means you KNOW I'm cranking them on Mondays:)
Just three today:) I haven't done a BYSK in a hot minute so I hope you enjoyed this! Please please PLEASE check out the amazing artists mentioned above because your life will improve once you do:)

I was going to film this look but then things went to shit in the middle of filming so thats coming soon but for now I thought I'd blog the look.
SOME QUICK BACKGROUND IN CASE YOURE CONFUSED:
The Sleepover Tour is what I assume is the Spring Gnash Headliner featuring Gnash (obviously), Max Schneider, Wrenn, IMAD Royal, Sweater Beats, Tulpa & Blankts, Triangle Park, myboyjon, and Goody Grace. The first leg of the tour was everyone except Goody Grace and the second leg was everyone but Wrenn and IMAD Royal.
Honestly it was such a good night. I've been trying to see Gnash live for the longest time and I always find out about him touring in the middle or after its over which sucks. But this time I caught him two weeks before the tour started and you know your girl snagged tickets.
My date was on 4/18/17 and I was terrified I wasn't going to be able to go because I was out of town until the day of the show but things worked out and I came home the day before so there wasn't an issue. My friend and I missed the first half hour of the show because of traffic but we were blessed because if we had come in any later we would have missed Wrenn's set and honestly she was a majority of the reason I was even going. (I'd put a video in but I'd have to upgrade and I'm not about to do that today)
Also Max Schneider came out of nowhere oh my god the last time I saw that man he was in RAGS but he shot out of hiding like a canon ball. His set was something I didn't know I needed until he got on stage. He was so energetic and I couldn't help but smile the entire time he was on stage.
Gnash was really good. I'm honestly really glad I finally got to see him perform. The only thing that pissed me off (this is a petty joke honestly I'm not even mad) was that he came out on stage in his own merch. He walks out in this school bus yellow hoodie with his logo on it and I was like BOY because A couple minutes prior to his set I tried to buy merch, more specifically that hoodie and it was $60. Sixty mother fucking dollars. I had $50 on me incase things got expensive but apparently I was $10 short. This man was trying to steal my money and I was just trying to stay warm. But in all honestly I'm so used to buying $5-10 t-shirts at local band shows that when I go to bigger concerts for bigger artists, the prices throw me off big time.
Overall though the show was incredible. My friend and I had an amazing time and I made a couple friends as well!
I also met Wrenn after crying during her entire set. She is hands down one of the sweetest human beings I have ever met in my entire life. She's also insanely talented. Her music is so calming and her voice is absolutely insane. I'm literally in love with her and her voice. She complimented my makeup (which is partially why I felt the need to make this post) and was just the kindest soul. I told her that I was stoked when I saw her name on the lineup and she thanked me and we hugged like forty times. I absolutely love this woman so much and meeting her was for sure a highlight of 2017.
Now onto the makeup:
I am one of those people who have to match their makeup to their outfit. It's just something I have to do or I get extremely OCD about it. So obviously I had to incorporate a pink eye look into my crushed pink velvet look.
I honestly don't have a long list of things I do for my base makeup.
Thats all for this post! I hope you guys enjoyed! I'm going to upload a youtube tutorial on this look soon and when I do I'll link it here.
